Laurent Freixe joined Nestlé in 1986 and was promoted to CEO on September 1, 2024. It is reported that this investigation originated from the company’s internal complaint system “Speak Up”.
Earlier this year, concerns were raised about Laurent Freixe’s relationship with an employee, and Nestlé conducted an internal investigation but failed to substantiate the allegations. However, after the complaints persisted, the Nestlé board of directors launched another investigation with the assistance of external lawyers and ultimately confirmed that the allegations were true.
Nestlé Chairman Paul Bulcke said: “This is a necessary decision. Nestlé’s values and governance are the strong foundation of the company. We are grateful for Laurent’s contributions to Nestlé over the years.” Nestlé announced that it has appointed Philipp Navratil, the head of the Nespresso coffee brand, as the new CEO.
