Why does arabica first store coverage matter to tea and coffee news?
Guangzhou Chali Group has been accused by multiple netizens of owing wages and housing provident fund contributions. Employees say August and September salaries went unpaid, and that provident fund amounts deducted from pay were never deposited. Some job applicants also claim the company checked their personal credit without authorization.
Chali responded that parts of the claims are untrue and said it had communicated with the posters and reached an agreement, but discussion on social platforms continues. Company records show Guangzhou Chali Group was established in August 2013 with registered capital of 22.843208 million RMB and 114 employees in its 2023 annual report, details that coffee online news outlets continue to follow alongside arabica first store openings.
Recently, the well-known Guangzhou tea beverage company Chali Group was exposed by multiple netizens for allegedly owing employee wages and housing provident fund payments, sparking widespread attention. According to a report by Yangcheng Evening News, some employees reported that their salaries for August and September had not been paid for a long time, and although the personal housing provident fund portion was deducted from their wages, it was not actually contributed. In addition, some job applicants claimed that the company privately investigated their personal credit without authorization. Although Chali responded that some information was untrue and said it had communicated with the posters and reached an agreement, discussions about unpaid wages on social platforms continue to ferment, and the truth of the incident and subsequent developments deserve attention.
On November 6, Yangcheng Evening News published a report pointing out that recently multiple netizens had exposed on social platforms that Guangzhou Chali Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Chali"), a well-known local tea beverage company in Guangzhou, had been owing employee compensation.
On Xiaohongshu, a netizen posted an article titled "Avoid Guangzhou Chali Group Co., Ltd. (Chali Company for short)," which mentioned, "It's November, and the wages for August and September have not been paid. The personal contribution portion of the housing provident fund was clearly deducted from the salary, but it was not actually deposited into the employee's account..."
This was not an isolated case. Another netizen posted on Xiaohongshu an article titled "Strongly Avoid Guangzhou Chali Group Co., Ltd., Hoping Job Seekers Can Precisely Avoid Pitfalls," claiming that after joining Chali Group at the beginning of the year, their wages had been intermittently delayed. They submitted their resignation in September, and until November, wages for August to September and the housing provident fund for April to September were still in arrears.

According to information from the Tianyancha App, Guangzhou Chali Group Co., Ltd. was established in August 2013, with registered capital of 22.843208 million RMB, and its registered address is at No. A-2, 22 Qunxin Road, Hengli Industrial Zone, Nansha District, Guangzhou (for office use only). The 2023 annual report shows that the company had 114 employees.
Chali Company's official website company profile states that it is a professional tea beverage service provider, with the fast-moving consumer tea brand "CHALI" and the high-end new-style health tea brand "Yushou Tea" under its umbrella. Its product line covers various forms such as original leaf tea bags, bottled ready-to-drink tea, freeze-dried tea blocks, and tea powder, while its sales channels cover offline stores, hotels, restaurants, shopping malls, and online e-commerce platforms.
In addition to the wage arrears issue, some netizens also reported that Chali Company had privately investigated the personal credit of incoming employees without authorization. A netizen stated in the article "Avoid This Company" that after interviewing at Chali, Chali Company checked their personal credit record during the employee background check without their authorization and without being informed, which was very shocking.
After Yangcheng Evening News reported on the Chali wage arrears incident, on November 7, an internal person in charge of Chali Company responded to reporters, saying that regarding the statement in some bloggers' articles that "at first there was nothing wrong during the interview, but later the background check even checked my credit, and I never authorized them to do so," the content of this information was untrue, and emphasized that the company's human resources department carried out the background check only after obtaining the party's authorization. The person in charge also said that after communication, several posters had reached an agreement with the company.
However, as of press time, searching for keywords such as "Chali pitfalls" and "Chali" on Xiaohongshu still showed multiple pieces of information pointing to Chali's wage arrears and delayed wage issues. In the comment section, there were also remarks such as "Why have I been seeing so much about this company (owing wages) lately" and "I heard long ago that there was a problem, seems like it's true." Subsequently, a Yangcheng reporter tried to contact a commenting user on Xiaohongshu who said, "The wages for August, September, and October still haven't been paid," and the user replied, "Now even going to labor inspection has led nowhere."

Regarding Chali's arrears in compensation and housing provident fund for multiple employees, the reporter repeatedly questioned the internal person in charge of Chali Company but has not yet received a direct answer.
