What Does the Luckin Coffee Fresh Fruit Launch Change?
Luckin Coffee has rolled out regional limited-edition fruit drinks in Shenzhen and Chengdu. Shenzhen stores now offer Daily Fresh Lemon Tea, Big Fruit Grape Fresh Lemon Tea, and Fragrant Lemon Jasmine Americano, while Chengdu introduced Snow Cheese Berry Berry. The drinks use fruit prepared in-store, including same-day lemon slices and washed fresh strawberries, rather than the freeze-dried pieces used before mainly for decoration.
The change prompted questions about whether stores have the tools and cold storage for fresh cutting. Employees in both cities answered by posting photos of delivered strawberries, lemons, and oranges along with newly supplied fruit slicers. Staff in non-limited regions largely stayed quiet, and online reviews remain divided, showing how closely coffee culture followers track these regional tests.
Luckin Coffee recently launched regional limited-edition new products in Shenzhen and Chengdu. In Shenzhen, these include "Daily Fresh Lemon Tea," "Big Fruit Grape Fresh Lemon Tea," and "Fragrant Lemon Jasmine Americano," while Chengdu introduced "Snow Cheese Berry Berry." Unlike previous offerings that used freeze-dried fruit pieces, these new products incorporate fresh fruit prepared on-site at the stores. The three lemon drinks in Shenzhen feature lemon slices cut fresh on the same day, and the Chengdu new product includes washed fresh strawberries. This change has raised consumer questions about whether stores are equipped for fresh cutting, and subsequently, Luckin employees in both cities posted photos of the delivered fruit and the newly equipped fruit slicers to confirm it. However, employees in non-limited regions generally avoided commenting on this, and online reviews have been polarized.

Recently, Luckin Coffee launched regional limited-edition drinks in Shenzhen and Chengdu. The Shenzhen market introduced "Daily Fresh Lemon Tea," "Big Fruit Grape Fresh Lemon Tea," and "Fragrant Lemon Jasmine Americano," while the Chengdu market rolled out "Snow Cheese Berry Berry." It is reported that these limited-edition products all include fresh fruit ingredients—the three lemon drinks in Shenzhen use lemon slices cut fresh on the same day, and the Chengdu new product adds washed fresh strawberries.
In the past, although the main fruit pieces could be seen in Luckin's fruit tea drinks, those pieces were actually freeze-dried products that mainly served a decorative role in the cup and contributed little to the actual taste. Therefore, when consumers learned that the brand had added fresh-cut lemon slices and fresh strawberries to the drinks this time, local users became very curious and showed strong interest in the new products.
At the same time, some consumers also raised questions after learning about the product adjustments. In their impression, Luckin's offline stores had almost never had tools such as knives or cutting boards, nor did the stores have refrigeration equipment for storing fresh fruit, so they were confused about whether the fresh-cut fruit advertised by the official side really existed.
In response to these questions, Luckin employees in Chengdu and Shenzhen successively showed on social platforms the fresh fruits such as strawberries, lemons, and oranges received by the stores. The Shenzhen staff also posted the newly distributed fruit slicers and released demonstration videos of operating the tools.
According to these employees, the new products indeed added fresh fruit ingredients as officially advertised. In addition to their original work of making coffee, shaking milk tea, and cleaning the store, their daily tasks now also include selecting the fruit that arrives at the store, putting it into designated equipment for washing, and slicing it. If the cut fruit is not used up within its shelf life, it must be discarded and prepared again.
These images also confirmed earlier rumors on social media about Luckin introducing fresh-cut fruit. After seeing colleagues skillfully using the slicers to process fruit, Luckin employees in non-limited regions mostly kept their distance from the new tools and said they did not want these regional limited-edition new products to appear in their own stores, exclaiming, "Go away, go away, don't come."

Interestingly, after learning about the production process for the new product materials, netizens had mixed views on Luckin's adjustment this time. Many expressed surprise and suggested that the company promote these new products in stores nationwide so that more consumers could drink fruit teas and fruit coffees with fresh-cut lemon slices added.
But another group pointed out that although Luckin added fresh-cut lemon slices and other fresh fruits to the new products, the main source of flavor in the drinks was still ingredients such as lemon concentrate and quick-frozen grape juice, and they believed the actual significance of this production process adjustment was limited. In addition, some users mentioned that as temperatures gradually rise, the food waste generated from handling fresh-cut fruit may attract fruit flies and insects, and they expressed certain concerns about the hygiene conditions for Luckin employees handling fresh fruit within the semi-open bar area.
