What does the Mixue rumor reveal about specialty coffee culture?

A widely shared chat log alleging a violent conflict between a Mixue Ice Cream & Tea employee and company HR in Beijing has been confirmed false by outlets including Red Star News and Southern Metropolis Daily. The blogger deleted the posts, and no store matching the described location appears on maps. The story spread through specialty coffee and tea circles before any verification took place.

The rumored claims included a denied late-arrival card replacement, verbal abuse, a store smash-up, a canceled cashier system, and embezzled funds. The employee allegedly demanded 6n+6 compensation, and the store owner reportedly first pleaded leniency, then withdrew from mediation. The incident shows how quickly unverified workplace claims travel through coffee culture communities online.

A few days ago, a chat log about a conflict between a Mixue Ice Cream & Tea employee and the company's HR department was widely shared on social platforms, sparking considerable discussion.

According to the chat screenshots circulating online, an employee who had worked for half a year at a Mixue Ice Cream & Tea store in Beijing applied for a card replacement after arriving late, but when the company's HR did not approve it, the employee immediately launched a sustained verbal attack on the HR staff member. Faced with this harassment, HR directly made public the employee's salary details, pointed out that the abusive behavior had violated the employee code of conduct, and therefore decided to dismiss the employee, adding that they would go to Beijing the next day to handle the offboarding. However, the employee did not accept this outcome and instead claimed that if fired, the company would need to pay "6n+6" in compensation.

Other chat records indicate that when the employee negotiated the departure with HR at the store, a physical altercation broke out between the two sides, and the employee is suspected of smashing up the store, causing damage to equipment and injuries to staff.

Quite dramatically, when staff planned to pursue the employee's legal liability, the store owner pleaded on the employee's behalf on the grounds that "the employee's family background is poor," saying they would only require compensation for the store's equipment losses and did not want to pursue other responsibilities. But after learning that the employee, in a fit of anger, had canceled the company's cashier system, the owner immediately contacted staff, saying, "If there's no (mediation), don't sign first; give up on mediation."

In addition, a screenshot of an internal group announcement that circulated showed that, besides verbally abusing HR, smashing up the store, and canceling the cashier system, the employee was also suspected of embezzling public funds to buy a phone and attempting to destroy related evidence. Because the circumstances were serious and caused financial losses to the company, the company has reported the matter to the police and will pursue legal liability in accordance with the law.

After these screenshots—including chat records, clock-in records, pay stubs, and the internal group announcement—were exposed online, they quickly drew a large crowd of netizens to watch and discuss. Many jokingly described the employee's behavior as "post-00s employees straightening out the workplace," and were full of curiosity about the follow-up to this conflict between a Mixue Ice Cream & Tea clerk and the company.

However, some netizens also noticed that although the card replacement record showed the employee's store as "Mixue Ice Cream & Tea Beijing R&F Golden Jubilee Garden Franchise Store," this store involved could not be found on map apps. At the same time, some people raised many doubts about the claim, such as how the employee could cancel the company's cashier system via mobile phone, and the fact that the so-called group notice contained many typos, saying outright that they doubted the authenticity of the series of conflicts in the chat records circulating online.

Mixue Bingcheng employee conflict incident rumored to be false; the store involved cannot be found at the stated location

In response to this online claim about Mixue Ice Cream & Tea, on the afternoon of January 4, a Red Star News reporter learned from an informed employee of Mixue Ice Cream & Tea in Beijing that the claim was false and the original blogger had deleted the related content. On January 5, a Southern Metropolis Daily reporter called the national customer service hotline of Mixue Ice Cream & Tea, and the operator responded, "No R&F Golden Jubilee Garden store in Beijing has been found."
