Recently, a consumer in Fuqing, Fujian, complained on social media that they found a wriggling, light-colored live worm in a vanilla cream melon chiffon milk tea smoothie purchased from LELECHA. The store responded that a review of the surveillance footage revealed no issues, and pointed out that the smoothie's temperature was below 0°C, making it impossible for a live worm to wriggle as quickly as shown in the video. The Fuqing Municipal Market Supervision Administration has inspected the store and found no abnormalities for the time being; the incident is still under investigation. The consumer refused communication and compensation, insisting on keeping the post, while LELECHA stated it had processed a refund and cooperated with the inspection. According to Southern Metropolis Daily, a consumer in Fujian recently posted multiple posts and videos on social media, complaining that they found a wriggling live worm in a vanilla cream melon chiffon milk tea purchased from LELECHA.

It is understood that on March 19, the consumer ordered a vanilla cream melon chiffon drink through a food delivery platform from a LELECHA store in Fuqing, Fujian. After receiving it, they found a light-colored live worm wriggling on the surface of the milk tea smoothie, immediately reported it to the store, and posted the experience on social media.

The incident quickly drew attention and discussion from netizens, and LELECHA officially noticed the consumer's feedback at the first opportunity. On March 23, a reporter from Southern Metropolis Daily's Bay Finance Society asked the store involved about the situation, and a staff member said the store was investigating and had found no problems after reviewing the beverage preparation surveillance footage.

The staff member said that under normal circumstances the smoothie temperature is 0°C or below, and at such temperatures, even if there were a live worm, it would not wriggle as quickly as in the video. At the same time, the employee revealed that the store had tried multiple times to communicate with the consumer, but the other party refused communication and did not accept compensation, only hoping to keep the post.

On the same day, the Fuqing Municipal Market Supervision Administration told reporters that it had noticed the food safety incident and went to the store for inspection, but had not found problems on site for the time being, and was still conducting further investigation. In addition, the administration had also been in contact with the consumer multiple times.

It is worth mentioning that on March 23, the reporter tried to contact the person involved but received no response. However, in the post's comment section, the consumer said that the store had called her, claiming that if the consumer could not prove it was the merchant's problem and posted the video on social media, it would be suspected of infringing the merchant's right of reputation. The poster said she was very angry about this and stated that she did not want to delete the video or agree to negotiation.

In response to the matter, on March 24, a relevant person in charge of LELECHA said in an interview with reporters that after verification, the store involved received the customer's feedback about "a wriggling live worm appearing in the drink" on March 19, immediately processed a refund, and informed the customer that the store would give a reply after self-inspection.

The next day (March 20), the market supervision department where the store involved is located inspected the store, checking store hygiene, raw material shelf life and purchase receipts, as well as the operation room and operating equipment, and found no abnormalities. At present, the store and the brand's customer service are actively contacting the customer to provide a satisfactory resolution. As of publication, the video and related posts published by the consumer could no longer be found on social media.
