Recently, a newly resigned worker posted on social media under the title "Worked 31 hours for 4 yuan in wages," accusing a Luckin Coffee franchise store in Shandong of unfair employment practices.
According to the poster, they had previously applied for a part-time job at a local Luckin Coffee franchise store. The store manager informed them that new employees needed to complete a 5-day training period, and if both sides worked well together, they could stay on and continue working at the store.
However, what the poster did not expect was that on the fourth day of the training period, the manager dismissed them on the grounds of "not adapting to the store's work." Even more unexpectedly, when the poster demanded the wages for those 4 days of work, the other party transferred only 4 yuan and explained that "during the training period, it's one yuan per day."

It is understood that when the worker joined the Luckin Coffee store, the two parties did not sign a labor contract or any agreement; there was only a chat record asking them to come to work. The poster pointed out that the manager's so-called training period was actually equivalent to a trial period, and they happened to be dismissed just before the trial period ended, ultimately receiving only 4 yuan to settle the wages for those days, which inevitably raises suspicions that the manager did this intentionally.
After the post was published, it quickly attracted a large crowd of onlookers. After seeing the chat records between the poster and the store manager, they were furious and criticized the store's "one yuan per day" wage settlement as extremely unfair to workers: "I'm dying laughing, 4 yuan? Is this meant to shoo away a beggar?" "How does he have the nerve to transfer these 4 yuan?" "It can't even buy the cheapest coffee in their store."

Many people even suggested that the worker should directly call the police or protect their rights through labor arbitration and other means, and demand reasonable wages from the other party. A few hours after the post gained traction, the store manager contacted the poster, saying that during the training period the poster had worked a total of 4 days, totaling 25 working hours, and recalculated the pay at 10 yuan per hour, then transferred the wages to the poster after settling the account.
It is worth mentioning that in the comments section of the post, another netizen from Shandong said they had also worked at the same franchise store at the end of November. She said that during her work she had been labeling items the whole time and had not learned any useful skills. After working two days, she was dismissed, and 8 hours of labor earned her only 2 yuan in wages.
Regarding the unreasonable employment practices at this Luckin Coffee franchise store, some netizens believed that although the poster got their wages, they should still persist in defending their rights. In their view, a wage of 10 yuan per hour during a part-timer's trial period is still unreasonable, and wages should be paid according to the local minimum hourly wage standard.
In addition, after Luckin Coffee's official account appeared in the comments section of the rights defense post, many netizens left messages under its official response, arguing that the brand should intervene in this matter and protect workers' legitimate rights and interests. At the same time, they said that some unreasonable employment practices at franchise stores can actually create a negative impression of the brand, and believed that the brand should strictly investigate unfair practices within franchise stores.
