Why are Mstand cold brew carafes cracking for buyers?
Multiple Mstand customers have reported that the glass cold brew carafe sold in the brand's July cold brew set shattered during normal use. Some described the bottom breaking suddenly and cutting them with flying fragments; most cases involved cracks near the bottleneck, including one pot that broke while being carried outdoors. Buyers say they used no hot water and handled the carafe with care.
The set pairs cold brew coffee packets with a glass pot and sold well during the summer peak for iced coffee, when home brewing demand is high at its strongest. Mstand has since faced criticism over past merchandise as well: an earlier woven bag was faulted for handles that broke easily. Repeated breakage complaints are straining trust among the fan base that drives these set sales, and questions about the glass specification remain unanswered.
In the scorching summer heat, iced coffee has become a favorite among many coffee lovers, and making cold brew at home is a recent popular choice. Mstand, skilled at merchandise marketing, launched a cold brew set in early July, including cold brew coffee packets and a glass cold brew pot, quickly attracting a large number of fans to buy in. However, recently, multiple consumers have reported serious quality issues with this cold brew pot—some had the bottom suddenly shatter and got cut by fragments while using it, and more encountered inexplicable breakage at the bottleneck connection. Although the product is labeled as ordinary glass and not heat-resistant, users who reported issues all stated they did not use hot water and handled it carefully. This is not the first time Mstand's merchandise has failed; the previously launched woven bag was also criticized for its easily broken handles. While the strategy of using high-appeal freebies to drive set sales is effective, frequent quality control issues are eroding fan trust.

In the height of summer, people's love for iced coffee grows stronger, and cold brew coffee, which is easy to make at home, has become a sought-after item among coffee enthusiasts recently. Mstand, known as the "merchandise maniac," clearly captured fans' enthusiasm for cold brew drinks and launched a cold brew combo set at the beginning of July—containing easy-to-use cold brew coffee packets and a glass cold brew pot.
Consumers who love cold brew naturally wouldn't miss such a set, and once the promotion launched, they placed orders one after another. However, not long after, some buyers found that the quality of this cold brew pot was truly concerning. A user posted online describing how they were taking the pot with the cold brew stick to get room-temperature water when the bottom suddenly shattered without warning, and flying glass fragments cut them.
Many netizens also reported similar quality issues, though most encountered breakage at the bottleneck connection. According to one customer, the lid of this cold brew pot is designed with a handle, so she carried the glass pot full of drink outside, only to have the bottleneck suddenly break midway, and the whole pot fell to the ground and shattered.
In response to these situations, some asked: could it be caused by improper use? A netizen posted a picture of the product packaging and pointed out that the pot is made of ordinary glass, has poor heat resistance, and cannot be used for water over 50°C. In other words, this product is only suitable as a cold brew pot or cold drink cup, and extra care should be taken in daily use to avoid cracks from impacts.
However, those consumers who reported quality issues with the cold brew pot all emphasized that they had never poured hot water into the pot and were very careful in daily use. A customer who had just received the freebie said he placed an order on the day the set went on sale, and when he got home that night, he couldn't wait to put the cold brew packet and cold water into the new pot. Unexpectedly, as soon as the lid was put on and twisted, there was an abnormal sound, and upon closer inspection, the bottleneck had already cracked.
These users with similar experiences are very worried about the quality of Mstand's freebies. They believe that the breakage at the bottleneck connection is a sudden occurrence, and the crack is very sharp, so users can easily get cut if they are not careful.

Some fans frankly stated that although Mstand frequently launches various merchandise, the product quality is always unsatisfactory. The previously released "vegetable basket" woven bag, because it resembled a certain luxury brand's style, triggered fans to rush to buy it.
But after getting the actual item, many complained that the handle area of the woven bag breaks especially easily, and some bags were completely "done for" after being carried only once or twice, so much so that users mocked themselves for spending over a hundred yuan on a knockoff of a luxury brand, only to get two days of happiness in return.
Using high-appeal freebies to attract consumers to buy sets is a tried-and-true promotional tactic for Mstand. Although loyal fans are well aware of this routine, they are still willing to pay for it.
However, the successive quality issues with the freebies have made them quite dissatisfied, and they said bluntly that when designing merchandise, the brand should not only focus on appearance but also pay more attention to quality control. Especially for products made of fragile materials such as glass and ceramics, stricter checks should be applied to prevent customers from being accidentally injured during use.
