How can cold brew coffee be limited to black coffee!! This article teaches everyone how to easily make silky-smooth cold (milk) brew latte coffee at home, without a coffee machine or complicated equipment. Without further delay, GO GO GO!
The soul of milk brew coffee:
"Full-bodied mouthfeel, no burden"
The reason low-temperature extracted coffee is so charming is that low-temperature extraction effectively reduces the release of some heavy molecular weight substances in coffee particles (such as bitterness). At the same time, because the extraction time is long, the light molecular weight flavor substances in the coffee particles can be fully released, so low-temperature extracted coffee can show an overall clean profile while having a rich aroma and full-bodied mouthfeel.

Milk brew coffee follows the same principle~ The latte coffee we usually buy in coffee shops is made by extracting espresso through a pressurized high-temperature espresso machine and then adding milk. The espresso itself will more or less extract some bitter substances. Although these flavors will be diluted after adding milk, some sensitive friends may still find the taste not so good~ Then milk brew coffee can solve this problem very well.

Of course, because fresh milk is rich in protein and milk fat, these substances will further slow down the release of flavor substances, so the concentration of the extracted latte coffee is not as high as that made by a coffee machine, but the coffee's aroma and mouthfeel are truly excellent! Drinking milk brew coffee gives people a feeling of "the coffee fully presents its best self in the mouth, then turns and leaves," with a full-bodied mouthfeel and no burden~
How to make cold brew latte coffee?
For the milk used to make cold brew latte, Front Street recommends choosing fresh milk. Fresh milk has a higher content of lactose and milk fat, which can give the cold brew latte a smooth and full-bodied mouthfeel.

For coffee bean selection, we can choose some with more prominent flavors, such as Ethiopian Huakui coffee beans/Costa Rican Mozart coffee beans/Honduran Sherry coffee beans, and other single-origin coffee beans with relatively soft acidity and an overall mellow body.
- Ingredients -
This time Front Street used Honduran rum barrel-processed Sherry coffee beans. Prepare a clean and dry sealed container, fresh milk that you like to drink, and tea filter bags.

- Brewing Parameters -
Coffee bean grind size: medium-fine grind (85% passing through China No. 20 standard sieve), coffee-to-milk ratio 1:13, low-temperature steeping time: 8-10 hours.
- Steps -
In this article, Front Street used 20g of coffee grounds, put them into two tea filter bags respectively and tied the bag openings. Then place them into a clean and dry container, pour in 260g of chilled fresh milk, cover with a lid and gently shake to ensure the coffee grounds in the tea filter bags are fully wetted, then put it in the refrigerator for 8-10 hours. After extraction is complete, remove the tea filter bags/pour out the milk coffee and it is ready to taste~ Since milk is rich in nutrients, it is recommended that after extraction is complete, it should not be stored for more than 12 hours.

" Lazy Version "
Prepare a small carton of fresh milk, based on the milk's net content prepare coffee grounds and put them in a tea filter bag, then directly put it into the milk carton, seal the opening with plastic wrap, and put it in the refrigerator to extract~

Front Street first tasted the freshly filtered Queen's Estate cold brew milk coffee. In appearance it was a rich milk tea color, and it smelled of hazelnut and roasted peanut aromas. On the palate it was aromatic, thick, and silky. After being left overnight to ferment, the coffee's mouthfeel was similar, but the aroma was noticeably reduced. Also, considering that milk is a beverage that spoils very easily, Front Street recommends drinking finished milk brew coffee on the same day as much as possible to avoid gastrointestinal discomfort.
