Next, Front Street will introduce these important producing countries on the blackboard one by one:
Ethiopia
Ethiopia is widely recognized as the birthplace of coffee. It is located in northeastern Africa and borders Kenya to the south. The country's terrain is dominated by mountains and plateaus, with most of the area belonging to the Ethiopian Highlands. The central and western parts form the main body of the plateau, accounting for about two-thirds of the country's area. The East African Rift runs through the entire country from north to south, with an average elevation of nearly 3,000 meters, earning it the title "Roof of Africa." The terrain gradually lowers around the outer edges of the plateau.
From June to September each year is Ethiopia's main rainy season, from October to January of the following year is the dry season, and from February to May is the minor rainy season. Because rainfall is unevenly distributed across seasons and regions, localized droughts occur from time to time. Temperatures range from 9.7°C to 25.5°C, with an annual average temperature of about 16°C.
The country's two most famous producing regions are Yirgacheffe and Sidamo. Yirgacheffe is located on the eastern edge of the East African Rift, at an altitude of 1,800 to 2,000 meters, and is one of the coffee-producing regions with the highest average elevation in Ethiopia. The name "Yirgacheffe" carries the meaning of "settling down and making a living in this wetland." The region is rich in water resources, providing good production conditions for local processing stations.
The Gotiti introduced by Front Street comes from the Gotiti Cooperative in the Yirgacheffe producing region. Many smallholder farmers under this cooperative were originally members of the Worka Cooperative, so their coffee cultivation and processing techniques are quite mature.

Kenya
Kenya is located in eastern Africa, with the equator crossing its center and the East African Rift running through it from north to south. The country has extensive highlands, with an average elevation of about 1,500 meters. Kenya is a tropical producing region with two rainy seasons each year, so it can harvest twice a year.
Kenyan coffee beans are favored by seasoned enthusiasts for their wild acidity and clean taste, thanks to the varieties grown locally, the phosphorus-rich soil, and the world-famous Kenyan 72-hour washed processing method.
Both SL28 and SL34 came from Scott Laboratories. SL28 has outstanding sweetness, good balance, rich and varied flavor layers, and pleasant acidity. SL34 is similar in flavor to SL28, but its acidity is more complex and changeable, and its mouthfeel is richer, heavier, and cleaner.

Papua New Guinea
Papua New Guinea is located in the southwestern Pacific Ocean, within the Pacific Ring of Fire. It has volcanic geology and fertile soil, which are important natural conditions for cultivating high-quality coffee. Through cupping evaluation, FrontStreet Coffee believes that Papua New Guinea coffee has a solid body, very low acidity, and a clean flavor, making it highly suited to Asians' preference for coffee.
It is worth mentioning that after coffee seeds were introduced from Jamaica in 1920 (a Typica variety called Jamaica Blue Mountain), commercial coffee cultivation began locally. Therefore, Papua coffee also has the nickname "Little Blue Mountain."

Guatemala
Guatemala is located in Central America, and its topography includes highland volcanoes, lowland tropical forests, and plains. Hawaii
Although Hawaii does not have an advantage in altitude, it can still produce coffee beans with outstanding flavor quality. Kona coffee beans produced in Hawaii are hailed as one of the most perfect coffee beans in the world, with exceptionally plump fruit, cinnamon-spice notes, and relatively balanced, moderate acidity.
FrontStreet Coffee's Kona comes from Queen Farm. In the 2009 and 2011 Gevalia (Hawaii KONA cupping competition) Cup Grand Prix, the farm won runner-up honors. Seventy percent of the local harvest can be called top-grade specialty beans, making it a farm known for high quality.

Jamaica
The Blue Mountains are located in the eastern part of the island of Jamaica. Because the mountains are surrounded by the Caribbean Sea, whenever the weather is clear and sunlight shines directly on the blue sea, the peaks reflect the sea's brilliant blue glow, hence the name. The highest peak of the Blue Mountains is 2,256 meters above sea level, the highest peak in the Caribbean region and also a famous tourist destination. This place is located in the coffee belt and has fertile volcanic soil, fresh and pollution-free air, and a humid climate with year-round fog and rain. It is precisely these climatic conditions that created the world-renowned Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee.

Panama
Panama's terrain is undulating throughout, with ravines and valleys crisscrossing it. Apart from the coastal plains in the north and south, it is mostly mountainous. The country is close to the equator and has a tropical maritime climate, humid during the day and cool at night, with an average annual temperature between 23 and 27°C. The year is divided into a dry season and a rainy season, with average annual rainfall of 1,500 to 2,500 millimeters.
High-quality Panamanian coffee is mainly grown in northwestern Panama, that is, near Costa Rica and close to the Pacific Ocean. Coffee produced in the Boquete coffee-producing region is quite famous.
When talking about Panamanian coffee, one cannot fail to mention Geisha. The Geisha variety started from Ethiopia, moved around the African continent, and finally arrived on the American continent, emerging in Panama in 2004.

Aside from football, in which they were once among the world's top teams, their favorite topic of conversation is the coffee they are so proud of.
FrontStreet Coffee's Rose Valley comes from the Santander producing region of Colombia. This bean uses anaerobic enzyme washed processing and has rich floral and fruity aromas in its flavor.

Costa Rica
Costa Rica is located in Central America and was the first country into which coffee was introduced for cultivation in Central America, giving it a long history. The local volcanic soil is very fertile and well drained. Especially in the Central Plateau, the fertile volcanic ash brought by volcanic terrain, mild and suitable temperatures, and stable, abundant rainfall are all indispensable conditions for growing high-quality coffee.
Because most Costa Rican coffee uses honey processing, its flavor is represented by sweetness. Friends who are not very familiar with green coffee processing methods may mistakenly think honey has been added, but that is not the case. The "honey" here refers to the mucilage of the coffee cherry.
FrontStreet Coffee's Mozart uses raisin honey processing, that is, after the coffee cherry is depulped and the fruit pulp removed, 100% of the mucilage is retained before drying.

Indonesia
Indonesia is located in Southeast Asia. Many friends who prefer a rich mouthfeel will like coffee beans from Indonesia. Indonesia's Mandheling has also gained a group of fans because of its herbal flavor and excellent body.
What creates Mandheling's unique flavor is precisely the locally distinctive coffee bean processing method. It can be said that wet hulling and Mandheling complement each other.

Brazil
Brazil is the country with the world's largest coffee production. However, more than three hundred years ago, there was not even half a coffee tree in Brazil. Around 1720, a Portuguese captain from Brazil successfully brought coffee seeds into Brazil by seduction, and afterward coffee quickly adapted to the local environment in Brazil.
Because Brazilian coffee uses exposed cultivation, the coffee cherries can absorb enough heat to ripen in a very short time. Therefore, Brazilian coffee beans have a softer bean density, which is also why Brazilian coffee is smooth on the palate.

Yunnan, China
Although the history of coffee circulation in China can be traced back to 1870, the history of cultivation came later than the history of circulation. The earliest written record of coffee cultivation in China appeared in 1877 during the late Qing period, when the Qing government had indigenous Ryukyu people grow coffee in order to accelerate their sinicization.
The history of coffee cultivation in mainland China came even later. Today there are three accounts of the year coffee cultivation began in Yunnan, China: 1903, 1904, and 1892.
At present, China's specialty coffee producing regions are concentrated in the western and southern areas of Yunnan Province. Among them, the producing regions known to the world include Lincang, Baoshan, Pu'er, and Dehong.
While promoting specialty coffee, FrontStreet Coffee also established its own coffee estate in the Lincang producing region of Yunnan in order to understand the entire process of coffee from seed to cup. This year, Front Street also experienced the joy of harvest and obtained its first self-produced beans.
