Stumptown Coffee Roasters President Laura Szeliga is leaving the roaster just two months after its parent company, JDE Peet's, was acquired by Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP).
Peet's Coffee & Tea originally acquired Stumptown in 2015, and the brand was part of KDP's recent $18 billion acquisition.

Szeliga has served as the brand's president since December 2020. The Portland-based chain first opened in 1999, and today, in addition to its network of retail cafes, it operates a national wholesale business, which Szeliga said includes "more than 1,000 accounts."
She posted the news on LinkedIn.
"That's a wrap! Leaving Stumptown Coffee Roasters filled with gratitude for my team, our talented partners and all that we accomplished together while continuing to preserve the very special culture and brand that is Stumptown," she said.
"Working in third-wave specialty coffee has been incredibly fulfilling and inspiring. Through direct trade sourcing, we learn the story behind every coffee producer — their passion, their families and communities, and their commitment to quality. The Stumptown team possesses deep specialty coffee expertise, and their dedication to quality and hospitality, as well as their commitment to our shared values, is something I truly admire."
"Our wholesale customers (too many to name, but many of them are iconic businesses in their respective fields) have always been a key part of the brand experience, and they were all carefully recruited and trained by our talented sales team. I'll continue to cheer them on from afar!"
Finally, I want to sincerely thank Shawn Conway and Eric Lauterbach for entrusting me with the leadership of this amazing brand. It has truly been a dream job!
"I wish the team moving forward continued success; I hope Stumptown stays Stumptown."
